Job Summary

Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for the post of a Life Skills officer in our Care Leaving Team, as part of our Outstanding Social Care Workforce. If you are driven, flexible, highly motivated, and passionate about improving outcomes for our care leavers of North Lincolnshire then this is the job for you.

Responsibilities

You will be joining a strong and supportive team who work with young people aged 16+ who are Eligible, Relevant, Former Relevant and Qualifying Care Leavers offering support and guidance to enable young people to make a successful transition into adulthood, to work on developing skills around money management, cooking, cleaning, support to explore education and employment opportunities. Workers will use a strength-based approach to support young people whilst developing positive relationships.

You will deliver a range of support and interventions to individuals leaving care that focuses on their strengths which enable them to consider options and think differently helping them to feel more empowered and able to face new challenges. You will support and deliver activities that increase confidence, improve mental health, widen social networks, help with budgeting and enabling individuals to seek training, work or volunteering opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements

You will have had experience of working in services that deliver positive outcomes for individuals and their families. You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and sustain relationships with colleagues, partners and wider corporate parents.

You will have the ability to work collaboratively with individuals to identify their support needs, plan, implement and monitor emotional and practical support.
