Job summary

The University of Bath is inviting applications for a Science Assistant/Technical Assistant to support the Life Sciences and Chemistry UG teaching laboratories. The role involves helping with the setup, keeping glassware organized, preparing media and materials, and ensuring high standards of laboratory housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Candidates with technical or portering experience and an interest in science are encouraged to apply.
• Experience of working with compressed gases and/or chemical/biological hazardous waste would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up, turn-around and clearance of undergraduate practical classes.
• Organise glassware and prepare basic chemical/media and materials.
• Support laboratory housekeeping to high standards and assist with autoclaves and wash-up facilities.
