Job summary

Laing O’Rourke in Bridgend, South Wales, is seeking a Project Manager to lead a major infrastructure project from construction through handover. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, schedules and safety, and drive implementation of digital engineering and BIM.

You will work on complex lab and research facility delivery with strong governance, reporting and risk management requirements. The role emphasizes sustainability and a collaborative culture aligned with our values.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale infrastructure projects (£50m+).
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Temporary Works experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management and delivery of a major project from construction through to handover.
• Develop and monitor delivery strategies, programmes, budgets and resources.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to integrate lab, research, education and collaborative spaces.
• Oversee delivery of laboratory environments, MEP systems and critical infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Monitor project performance against programme, cost and quality objectives.
• Build relationships with clients and supply chain partners and manage governance.
• Promote digital engineering, BIM and modern methods of construction.
• Support commissioning, validation and handover to operations.
• Champion sustainability and net-zero objectives.
• Foster a collaborative culture aligned with company values (Care, Integrity, Courage).
