Job summary

Catering Bridgend is seeking a Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design teams on major infrastructure, water and energy projects across Wales and the UK. You will own the design process from feasibility through to handover, ensuring robust, buildable solutions aligned with project objectives.

The role requires proven experience in civil project design, strong leadership and commercial awareness, with a drive for value engineering and continuous improvement across the business.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Proficiency in CAD, BIM and Civil 3D software.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering design and construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, environmental and temporary works disciplines.
• Manage the design development process from feasibility through to detailed design and delivery.
• Collaborate with Pre-Construction teams to support bids, tenders and framework submissions.
• Drive buildability reviews, value engineering and technical risk reduction initiatives.
• Ensure designs meet programme, budget, quality and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate internal teams, consultants, subcontractors and supply chain partners to achieve integrated project solutions.
• Provide technical leadership during client and stakeholder meetings.
• Support the development of innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
