Job summary

Alzheimer's Research UK is recruiting a Commercialisation Manager to lead oversight of funded research portfolios and translate discoveries into patient benefits.

You will work across the Research Directorate, build governance, and foster partnerships with universities, TTOs, investors and industry, while supporting proof-of-concept investments and promoting entrepreneurship in dementia research.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in life sciences, biomedical sciences, business, innovation management or a related field
• Experience working in research commercialisation, technology transfer, business development, innovation management or a related field
• Understanding of intellectual property, licensing, spin-out creation and translational research pathways
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects and deliverables.
• Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and draw meaningful insights.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, including the confidence to challenge assumptions and identify risks or opportunities.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly to a range of stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining an independent and objective perspective.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercialisation oversight across ARUK's research portfolio.
• Support the implementation of commercialisation governance processes and review mechanisms.
• Support proof-of-concept investment activities and due diligence.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with universities, TTOs, investors and industry partners.
• Support and nurture entrepreneurship within the dementia research community.
