Teignbridge District Council is seeking a Licensing Officer (Level 2) to join the Commercial Team. The role focuses on delivering statutory licensing functions, advising applicants and partners, and ensuring determinations meet statutory timescales.

We are seeking a Licensing Officer at level 2 of the job description, to join our Commercial Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the Council’s statutory licensing functions, ensuring compliance with licensing legislation, supporting local businesses, and helping to protect residents and visitors across the district.
As a Licensing Officer, you will manage a wide range of licensing applications, ensuring they are processed and determined within statutory timescales. You will provide expert advice to applicants, businesses, elected members and partner agencies while balancing legislative requirements, council policies and public interest considerations.
You will be a motivated and organised professional with experience in local authority licensing and a strong understanding of licensing legislation.
You will have excellent communication skills and the confidence to make balanced decisions in often challenging situations.
