Job summary

Worcestershire Regulatory Services is recruiting a Principal Licensing Officer (Enforcement and Compliance) to lead the Compliance and Enforcement function within the Licensing Services team. You will manage licensing officers and support staff, supervise breach investigations, and advise on enforcement actions in line with statutory requirements.

The role requires a degree, proven management experience, and extensive knowledge of licensing activities across taxi/private hire, Licensing Act

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level with proven management experience.
• Experience in licensing, local authority regulatory or policing environments essential.
• Knowledge of licensing functions including taxi/private hire, Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, animal licensing, caravan licensing and street trading.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the licensing team, including licensing officers and support officers.
• Supervise investigations into breaches of licensing conditions and law, and review reports for further action.
• Review and allocate resources; lead on tasking and enforcement decisions.
• Identify service priorities and translate them into practical action plans for the team.
