Job summary

MOD Boscombe Down is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join a skilled aviation team. You will maintain aircraft to the highest engineering and safety standards, working alongside mechanical and avionic specialists in a dynamic defence environment.

The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership and exposure to a diverse fleet, including Grob 115E and Lycoming engines. You will mentor technicians, certify releases, and uphold strict procedures and safety culture.

Qualifications

• EASA Part 66 B1 Licence required.
• Experience in civil or military aviation maintenance.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of composite materials and MOD procedures.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Type Rating on Grob 115E aircraft.
• Experience with Lycoming 360 engines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out line and depth maintenance on aircraft.
• Certify aircraft for Release to Service per regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to technicians and inspectors.
• Work with engineering teams and customer representatives to resolve technical issues.
• Complete maintenance documentation accurately and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture and maintain high quality standards.
