Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join a leading Aerospace and Defence programme based at RAF Wittering. This permanent role involves carrying out line and depth maintenance and supporting the release to service of aircraft, in collaboration with mechanical and avionic engineers.

You will lead technicians and inspectors, diagnose faults, and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, while fostering safety and quality across all activities within a military

Qualifications

• B3 Licence – accepted.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Defence industry experience – desirable.
• Type Rating on Grob 115E aircraft and Lycoming 360 engines – desirable.
• Security clearance BPSS and Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out aircraft line and depth maintenance in line with regulatory and company requirements.
• Support generation and release to service of aircraft.
• Lead and support technicians during maintenance activities.
• Conduct fault diagnosis and technical problem-solving.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with legislation, procedures and customer requirements.
• Work with Site Operations Manager and engineering team to maintain output.
• Maintain high safety, quality and workmanship standards.
• Knowledge of MOD engineering procedures and documentation.
• Previous supervisory experience within civil or military aviation.

The Opportunity

Morson Edge are recruiting for a Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join a leading Aerospace and Defence programme based at RAF Wittering.

This is an excellent permanent opportunity for an experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer to carry out aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance, supporting the safe and efficient generation and release to service of aircraft.

Working alongside Mechanical and Avionic Engineers, you’ll play an important role in maintaining aircraft to the required regulatory, safety and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out aircraft line and depth maintenance in accordance with regulatory and company requirements

Support the generation and release to service of aircraft

Lead and support technicians and inspectors during maintenance activities

Conduct fault diagnosis and technical problem-solving

Ensure engineering activities comply with legislation, procedures and customer requirements

Work closely with the Site Operations Manager and wider engineering team to maintain operational output

Maintain high standards of safety, quality and workmanship

Knowledge of MOD engineering procedures and documentation

Previous supervisory experience within a civil or military aviation environment

Strong aircraft engineering and maintenance knowledge

Ability to lead and support engineering personnel

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Candidates must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS and Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
