Job summary

Babcock is hiring a Licensed Aircraft Engineer for the MoD Boscombe Down site near Salisbury, Wiltshire. You will work in a dynamic aviation engineering team, performing line and depth maintenance and release-to-service tasks to support critical defence operations.

You will lead with technical guidance, collaborate with mechanical and avionic specialists, and ensure compliance with MoD procedures while maintaining safe, serviceable aircraft and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership or mentoring experience.
• Strong communication skills to engage colleagues and customers.
• Problem-solving and analytical capability in an engineering environment.
• Ability to prioritise, simplify complexity and use sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance to ensure serviceable, safe aircraft.
• Performing release-to-service responsibilities per regulatory and safety requirements.
• Providing clear technical guidance to technicians and inspectors during maintenance activities.
• Supporting Babcock and client stakeholders with technical insight and problem solving.
• Completing engineering documentation with standards and accuracy.

Education

EASA Part 66 B1 licence

Full UK driving licence
