Job summary

Inspire Education Group (IEG) is seeking a Library and Digital Learning Assistant in Peterborough to manage resource systems and guide students through the modern digital landscape. You will help with loans, registrations, e-resources, and IT support.

You will coordinate stock, support inductions and campus events, promote the Learning Resource Centre, and assist with multi-channel enquiries while upholding safeguarding and health & safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills with a proactive, helpful approach.
• Good digital literacy and comfort with library systems and online resources.
• Ability to assist with IT-related tasks and user support.
• Willingness to work across campuses and adapt to flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Operate digital library software using Heritage Cirqa for loans, memberships, reservations, enquiries, overdues, invoicing, notifications, and new records.
• Coordinate resource procurement, respond to purchasing requests, and create online orders.
• Manage financial systems: raise POs, receive items, and send invoices.
• Process physical library inventory and stock processing.
• Resolve user enquiries using printed resources, e-books, and the VLE.
• Lead student center inductions and promote Learning Resource Centre usage.
• Represent the library in meetings and cross-campus committees.
• Provide IT support and supervise students to enhance digital literacy.
• Maintain housekeeping: shelving, stock replacement, repair, renewal.
• Handle admin duties and design promotional materials for awareness events.
• Analyse feedback data from surveys to improve services.
• Process cash transactions and handle day-to-day enquiries via multiple channels.
• Support diverse learning abilities and maintain a positive study environment.
