We have an exciting opportunity for a committed and motivated Library Assistant to join our friendly team based at Central Saint Martins (CSM) on a full time, permanent basis.
Our busy library is popular with our students and is located over three floors of a historic building overlooking Granary Square near King's Cross and St Pancras stations.
With your experience in a customer service or information environment, you will be contributing to the development and delivery of high-quality student-focused services which support the creative academic activities of the University.
Working collaboratively, you will participate in both front-line and administrative duties. You will help our users with information enquiries in person and online using our live chat service ASK. This includes helping with the use of Library materials, dealing with account queries, and supporting students with general purpose software and hardware.

You will be working 35 hours per week, and the working pattern will be 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday with a one hour unpaid lunch break each day.
There might be limited opportunities to work from home dependent on operational needs, but onsite working will be the main focus for this role.
We are looking for someone with a compassionate and student-centred approach. You will possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, in an inclusive manner.
You will also possess relevant experience in a library or customer service environment, and formal training to post-16 level.
Excellent IT and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work flexibly within a team, providing support and assistance to users and colleagues.
