GLL is seeking a Library Assistant to work 18 hours per week at West Wickham Library. If you have the skills and ambition to work as a Library Assistant, this is an exciting opportunity to develop your career. Southfields Library is a busy community hub offering a wide range of collections and resources, including books, periodicals, DVDs, and public computers/internet access. Join us as we enhance and promote our services to both existing and new users.

What you will do
  1. Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the library.
  2. Provide a warm welcome and genuine service to all customers, offering guidance and support to enhance their visit.
  3. Participate fully in any training provided.
  4. Support library activities.
  5. Assist customers with IT-related queries.
What you need:
  • Experience working within libraries or in a customer-facing role.
  • Evidence of making a positive impact on customers.
  • Good numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
  • A strong focus on customer service.
  • Passion, personality, and a team-oriented approach.
What we offer:
  • A salary of £25,998.50 per annum (pro-rata for 18 hours a week).
