Job summary

Brown & Brown UK is seeking a Liability Claims Handler to oversee Third-Party Property Damage claims and a smaller set of Personal Injury matters. The role involves investigation, liability assessment, negotiation and settlements in line with insurer guidelines, while maintaining accurate file notes and reserves.

The candidate should have solid experience in liability claims or related fields, with a professional qualification such as Cert CII and progression toward Dip CII being beneficial.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Third Party Property Damage claim handling experience.
• Desirable: experience handling Personal Injury claims and accompanying bodily injury evidence.
• Cert CII preferred; progress toward Dip CII advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Third-Party Liability claims from first notification through to settlement and closure.
• Handle a small portfolio of low-value Personal Injury claims, including liability assessment and settlements.
• Review incident circumstances to determine liability based on evidence and insurer strategy.
• Analyse supporting documentation such as medical reports, invoices and photographs.
• Conduct detailed liability investigations and identify potential fraud indicators or coverage concerns.
• Apply negligence and duty of care principles when assessing claims and settlements.
