Job summary

BCP Council in the Waste and Cleansing service is seeking an LGV driver to operate refuse, recycling and food waste collections. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week with early starts, late finishes and some weekend work.

The driver will handle a range of vehicles and must communicate effectively with the public and commercial customers. Bank holiday work is paid at enhanced rates; progression within the pay band and wellbeing support are highlighted in the package.

• Drive LGV/HGV vehicles on refuse, recycling and food waste collections
• Drive a range of vehicles as required
• Speak with members of the public and commercial customers
• Work early starts, late finishes and some weekends
• Work all bank holidays at enhanced rates, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day
• Work three catch-up Saturdays, or the substitute bank holiday and one or two catch-up Saturdays when Christmas Day or Boxing Day falls on a weekend
