Job summary

Playhouse Montessori offers a Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner apprenticeship in London. The Room Leader will run their room, care for children, and provide high-quality learning experiences while supervising staff.

The apprenticeship lasts 15-18 months, covering health & safety, safeguarding and development to support Ofsted readiness.

Salary is £10–£12 per hour, with hours Monday-Thursday 7:45am-6:00pm and Tuesday-Friday 7:45am-6:00pm. DBS may be required.

Qualifications

• The Room Leader is a qualified childcare professional with responsibility for the day-to-day running of their room.
• Provides high quality, stimulating learning environments and supervises staff.
• Supports management to achieve good Ofsted ratings and strive toward outstanding.

Responsibilities

• To work flexibly as part of the team, assisting and supporting colleagues to ensure smooth nursery operations.
• Contribute to teamwork with clear communication and uphold standards to maintain Ofsted 'good' or 'outstanding'.
• Lead by example, support training and inductions, and manage key staff in the room.
