Job summary

Scotch Orchard Primary School is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a caring and committed team. You will support pupils individually and in small groups, helping them progress and build confidence.

As a Level 3 TA, you will work under teaching staff to deliver engaging activities, observe progress and contribute to assessment, while promoting inclusive and positive behaviour within a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience of working with children in a school or similar setting.
• Caring, patient and committed to helping every child reach potential.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and adults.
• Understanding of how to support learning and development.
• Ability to work with individuals and small groups.
• Team player with initiative.
• High expectations of pupil behaviour and learning.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of engaging learning activities under direction of teaching staff.
• Work with individuals and small groups to support learning and development.
• Provide support to pupils needing extra help with learning, communication or social development.
• Build positive relationships encouraging confidence, independence and enjoyment of learning.
• Promote positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive classroom.
• Observe and feedback on pupils' progress and contribute to assessment and records.
• Support wider life of the school and contribute to school community.
