Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant in Dudley/Oldbury area to support secondary students with autism and complex needs. The role is full-time and long-term, starting September, with PAYE pay and a focus on student engagement and progress.

You will work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality support inside and outside the classroom, helping students develop communication, independence and confidence in a supportive, student-centred environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and complex needs.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• Experience supporting students with communication and behaviour needs.
• Patient, caring and proactive approach.
• Genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Oldbury, a welcoming secondary SEND school that supports students with complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties, communication and language difficulties, challenging behaviours and acute medical needs. The school provides outstanding support for students with autism, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex medical needs, while promoting independence, purposeful choice and celebrating every individual's achievements within a student-centred, family-focused environment.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from September. The successful Level 3 Teaching Assistant will support secondary-aged students with autism, complex needs, communication needs and behaviour needs, working closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality support both inside and outside the classroom while encouraging student engagement, independence and progress.

The successful Level 3 Teaching Assistant will have:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and complex needs
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Experience supporting students with communication and behaviour needs
• A patient, caring and proactive approach
• A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
