TeacherActive is recruiting a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for a full-time long-term role in an Oldbury SEND school starting September. You will support secondary students with autism, complex needs and communication challenges, working closely with staff to foster engagement and progress.

The post emphasises patient, caring support, positive relationships, and a proactive approach to helping pupils reach their potential in a student-centered environment.

Qualifications

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Oldbury, a welcoming secondary SEND school that supports students with complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties, communication and language difficulties, challenging behaviours and acute medical needs. The school provides outstanding support for students with autism, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex medical needs, while promoting independence, purposeful choice and celebrating every individual\'s achievements within a student-centred, family-focused environment.


The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from September. The successful Level 2 Teaching Assistant will support secondary-aged students with autism, complex needs, communication needs and behaviour needs, working closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality support both inside and outside the classroom while encouraging student engagement, independence and progress.


The successful Level 2 Teaching Assistant will have:



  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and complex needs

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

  • Experience supporting students with communication and behaviour needs

  • A patient, caring and proactive approach

  • A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
