Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking caring, motivated level 3 Support Workers to provide personal and practical social support to disabled children and young people in homes, community venues and group activities.

You will promote independence, respect privacy and dignity, and work with families to enable positive outcomes while safeguarding and following multi-agency guidance. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• A degree-level qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work).
• Minimum of two years' experience working with children and young people, including those with disabilities or challenging behaviours.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Responsibilities

• Providing Personal Support: assist children and young people in developing life skills and participating in activities.
• Strengthening Family Bonds: work with families to enhance relationships and create opportunities for quality family time.
• Monitoring Needs: observe and record changes to inform support planning and reviews.
• Leading Support Arrangements: lead one-to-one support as required to ensure safety and well-being.
