Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a Senior Support Worker to join the Children & Families Services team. You will provide personal and practical care to children and young people in community, home and group settings, helping them build independence and wellbeing.

The role requires a professional qualification (NVQ level 3+) in a relevant field, understanding of child development, and a minimum of three years’ experience. A full driving licence is also required where possible.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or above in a relevant field.
• Solid understanding of child development and family systems.
• Full driving licence (unless registered disabled).
• Minimum of three years’ experience working with children, young people and families.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with families, colleagues and partner agencies to create tailored support plans.
• Observe and communicate effectively to ensure each child receives the needed support.
• Guide and mentor staff through supervision, induction and development.
• Maintain high-quality standards in line with CQC requirements.
• Deliver creative and flexible support, including sleep programmes and short-term interventions.
