Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Preston for a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant. The role is temporary-to-permanent via the agency, with a start date ASAP and a competitive daily rate dependent on experience.

The school supports pupils aged 4-16 with EHCPs and diverse needs in a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will work 1:1 and in small groups, support teachers with lessons, and help pupils develop socially, emotionally and academically while

Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Preston, Lancashire
Contract: Full-time | Temporary to Permanent through agency
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Preston for a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The school supports pupils aged 4-16 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and complex needs. The school provides a supportive, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

The role will involve:
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Encouraging pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils to reach their individual goals.
  • Supporting pupils with communication, independence, and personal care where required.
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider school team.
To be considered, you will need:
  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
  • A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
