Job summary

Supply Desk is working with a friendly primary school in the Uxbridge area to recruit a Level 2 Teaching Assistant. This full-time role supports pupils across the classroom, including those with additional needs, in a nurturing environment.

Starting in September, the ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 TA qualification (or equivalent), bring experience with children, and be DBS checked or willing to obtain one. You will collaborate with teachers and SEN teams to help every pupil thrive.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working with children in schools, care, or support settings.
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Promote social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Help adapt learning materials to individual needs.
• Support the implementation of IEPs and behaviour strategies.
• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement.

This role is ideal for individuals with a Level 2 qualification and some experience working with children, either in schools, care, or support settings.

The Role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across the classroom, including those with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH. You will work closely with the class teacher to ensure pupils feel supported, engaged, and able to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Promote pupils social, emotional, and behavioural development
• Help adapt learning materials to suit individual needs
• Support the implementation of IEPs and behaviour strategies
• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
• Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN support teams

Requirements

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience working with children (school, nursery, or care setting)
• A genuine passion for supporting young learners
• Patient, positive, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
• Previous school-based experience
• Basic knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management
