Job summary

ESP Global Services is seeking a Level 1 Desktop Support Engineer in Yeovil, Somerset, to provide on-site hands-on IT support in a secure aerospace engineering and manufacturing facility.

The role requires 1-3 years in IT support and offers a salary of £30,000-£32,000 depending on experience, with opportunities to gain exposure to enterprise infrastructure and networking in a highly controlled environment.

Qualifications

• Windows desktop environments and PC hardware experience.
• Experience with TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
• CompTIA A+ or equivalent IT qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• As one of the first technical support points onsite, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, OS and connectivity issues.
• Install, support and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, monitors, printers and peripherals.
• Provide hands-on PCs and deskside support to end users.
• Support Windows OS and desktop applications.
• Troubleshoot basic LAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN and connectivity issues.
• Assist with Active Directory tasks including resets and account unlocks.
• Deploy Microsoft Office, antivirus and company apps.
• Provide basic support for iOS and Android devices.
• Conduct Smart Hands activities on networking gear under supervision.
• Manage incidents via ticketing system and meet SLAs.
• Escalate complex issues to Level 2 / specialists.
