Job summary

Stevenage Borough Council is recruiting for a 12-month fixed-term role in the lettings team. The post involves maintaining the housing register, letting vacant council homes promptly, and giving ongoing advice to households in housing need. A full UK driving licence and insured car for work are required, and enhanced DBS checks apply.

The successful candidate will work in a customer-focused team and contribute to achieving efficient allocations and support across housing services.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the council's housing register in line with the Allocations Policy
• Let vacant council properties in line with agreed processes and timescales to minimise rental loss
• Give ongoing advice to customers with a housing need
• Signpost customers to colleagues or organisations for housing support
