Job summary

The Waterside Hotel and Leisure Club is seeking a Leisure Team Leader to oversee day-to-day operations of the Leisure Club, including the gym and pool areas, ensuring they reflect our core values of Clean, Friendly and well maintained.

The role requires leadership, coaching of gym staff, and delivering high-quality customer service while maintaining health and safety standards. Shifts may include early starts and late finishes.

Job description

• Contract -Full Time - 40 hours per week

The Waterside Hotel and Leisure Club have an exciting opportunity for a Leisure Team Leader. Ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the Leisure Club you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the gym and pool areas are managed with our core values at the heart of the Leisure Club’s operation which are Clean, Friendly and well maintained.

Job Description

The role will include but does not exhaust the following list:

• The ability to ensure the smooth day to day operations within the Leisure Club.
• A sound knowledge of Health & Safety working practices.
• Exceptional customer service skills to guarantee that the club is friendly and welcoming.
• Excellent leadership skills to inspire and energise your team.
• A strong eye for details to ensure that the cleanliness and maintenance standards of the club are adhered to.
• Confident communication skills to liaise with both the Leisure Club Management Team on a daily basis.
• Previous management / operational experience in the leisure industry.
• Experience in coaching members of the gym; delivering high quality programmes and ensuring their safety at all times.
• An ability to train your staff in all areas of the gym floor and poolside supervision.
• An ability to administer first aid when needed.
• The capacity to adapt to the ever-changing demands of a busy leisure club.

The candidate will need to be:

• National Pool Lifeguard desirable but not essential - we can provide training for the right candidate
• First Aid at Work - would be covered under the NPLQ once completed
• Polite, friendly and confident when speaking to a diverse membership base of over 7000
• Flexible for shift work including 6am starts and 10:15pm finishes.
• Proactive
• Possess an ability to teach classes, desired but not essential.
