Job summary

The Berkeley Scott Group is hiring a Chef Manager for a school catering team in Leicester. Immediate start with a focus on maintaining high standards of food and service.

You will oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, lead staff, ensure health & safety, and manage stock while delivering quality meals for pupils and staff in a school environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Chef Manager or in a senior catering role.
• Experience in a school or education setting preferred.
• Enhanced DBS required; 2 references required.

Berkeley Scott are currently recruiting for an experienced Chef Manager to join a school catering team in Leicester. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced catering professional looking for an immediate start.

What you will be doing

As a Chef Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of the school kitchen and ensuring a high standard of food and service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving high-quality meals
• Managing the day-to-day kitchen operation
• Leading and supporting kitchen staff
• Maintaining food hygiene and health & safety standards
• Managing stock and food orders
• Ensuring meals are prepared to the required standards
• Creating a positive and professional environment for pupils and staff

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Chef Manager or in a similar senior catering role
• Experience within a school or education setting is desirable
• Enhanced DBS required
• 2 references required
• Food Safety Level 2 certificate required (or willingness to obtain)
• Food Allergen certificate required (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Ability to lead a team and work effectively under pressure
