Job summary

Berkeley-Scott is recruiting experienced Chef Managers to join our agency team for opportunities across schools and catering businesses in and around Luton, starting in September.

We seek organised hospitality professionals with strong leadership to manage kitchen operations across sites. Enjoy flexible agency assignments, competitive hourly pay of £18.00-£24.00, and ongoing support from the Berkeley-Scott recruitment team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as Chef Manager or similar kitchen management role.
• Experience in schools or contract catering desirable.
• Enhanced DBS certificate required.
• Right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day running of busy kitchens.
• Lead, motivate and support kitchen teams.
• Plan and deliver high-quality, nutritious meals.
• Maintain food hygiene, health & safety and allergen standards.
• Manage stock, ordering and waste minimisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing the day-to-day running of busy kitchens
• Leading, motivating and supporting kitchen teams
• Planning and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health & safety and allergen standards
• Managing stock, ordering and minimising waste
• Ensuring kitchens operate efficiently and meet client expectations

What we're looking for:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Chef Manager or in a similar kitchen management role
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
• Experience working within schools or contract catering is desirable
• Two satisfactory references
• An Enhanced DBS certificate
• The right to work in the UK
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be an advantage, but is not essential
