Job summary

Berkeley Scott is recruiting an experienced School Chef Manager to work across primary and secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas. You will manage daily school kitchen operations, lead a catering team and deliver nutritious meals to pupils to a high standard.

Competitive pay from £18.00–£24.00+ per hour, weekly pay, and ongoing agency assignments with potential long‑term placements. Flexibility, reliability and strong food safety knowledge are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Chef Manager within a school or education catering environment.
  • Food Safety Level 2 Certificate (Level 3 advantageous).
  • Food Allergen Awareness Certificate.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Own transport desirable due travel between school sites.

Role

As a School Chef Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a school kitchen, ensuring meals are prepared and served to the highest standards while maintaining full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.

  • Managing the daily operation of a busy school kitchen.
