Job summary

SER Limited is seeking an experienced Legionella Risk Assessor / Service Technician based in or around Guildford to join a growing water safety team covering the South East. The role blends hands-on water hygiene duties with risk assessment work to help clients keep water systems safe and compliant.

You'll carry out Legionella Risk Assessments to HSG274 Part 2, perform water temperature testing, flushing, sampling and reporting, and contribute to improvements across a varied client base.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in the Water Hygiene industry.
• Experience carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments.
• Qualification covering HSG274 Part 2 (WMSoc or City & Guilds).
• Strong knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG274.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Legionella Risk Assessments in line with HSG274 Part 2.
• Perform water temperature testing per ACOP L8.
• Flush water systems and disinfect showerheads.
• service and TMV servicing, water sampling and tank inspections/cleaning.
• Complete accurate electronic records and reports and provide recommendations.

Location: Guildford
Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 plus company van, fuel card, credit card, phone, overtime, pension and 25 days holiday + bank holidays

The Opportunity

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Legionella Risk Assessor / Service Technician to join a growing water safety team covering the South East.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Water Hygiene professional who wants a varied, cross-functional role combining hands-on water hygiene and service work with Legionella Risk Assessing.

You’ll be working across a range of commercial environments, carrying out water hygiene duties alongside professional risk assessments, helping clients maintain safe and compliant water systems.

The Role

• Carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments in line with HSG274 Part 2
• Water temperature testing in accordance with ACOP L8
• Flushing of water systems
• Showerhead cleaning and disinfection
• TMV servicing
• Water sampling
• Tank inspections
• Tank cleaning
• Swimming pool sampling
• Closed system sampling and analysis
• Completing accurate electronic records and reports
• Identifying potential risks and making appropriate recommendations

You’ll need:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience within the Water Hygiene industry
• Previous experience carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments
• A WMSoc or City & Guilds Legionella Risk Assessment qualification covering HSG274 Part 2
• Strong knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG274
• Experience with closed systems would be advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and accurate report writing skills
• A full UK driving licence
