Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Permanent | Monday to Friday, 9:00 am 5:30 pm
Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to support a senior Family Law Partner at their boutique practice in Newbury, Berkshire. You will work one-on-one with a highly experienced partner and collaborate closely with the wider legal team.
The firm has over five decades of combined experience gained at prestigious London firms and is renowned for delivering high-calibre, bespoke legal services to high-net-worth clients, often involving complex international matters. Known for being empathetic, proactive, and professional, they offer tailored solutions in sensitive legal scenarios. The team is close-knit, supportive, and highly experienced, with many employees enjoying long-standing tenures.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the senior partner's diary and inbox.
Liaise with clients, handling sensitive information with discretion, empathy, and professionalism.
Draft and format correspondence, legal documents, and court forms.
Coordinate billing processes, including issuing invoices and assisting with debt collection.
Manage all communications, including emails, calls, and post.
Organise and maintain files using LEAP and BigHand software.
Assist with court preparation, disclosure, and document management.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably within family law (not essential but advantageous)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, articulate, professional, and client-focused.
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Confident in using document management systems and audio typing.
Committed to maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional standards.
Experience with LEAP and BigHand software is highly advantageous.
