Job description

Legal Counsel – Corporate Governance (12 month FTC) - 4+ pqe - London

Unique opportunity to join the Office of the General Counsel at a top-tier international law firm on a 12-month FTC basis to cover maternity leave. Hybrid work arrangement: 3 days/week in the office, with an option for part-time, 4 days/week.

This role may suit a lawyer with experience in employment, corporate reorganisations, tax, governance, or regulatory matters seeking a move away from fee earning.

As part of the firm's in-house legal team, your responsibilities will include:

1. Working with the Partnership Affairs team, advising on firm structure, partner arrangements, and related documentation
2. Advising on legal risks and compliance
3. Preparing legal advice for management on operational matters and issues affecting the firm
4. Responding to queries from Partners
5. Supporting the firm's insurance renewal process
6. Engaging in project-based work
7. Liaising extensively with senior stakeholders across the firm, including Partners and operational leaders

To be considered, you should have:

• 4+ years PQE
• Training at a highly regarded firm
• Qualified in England & Wales

Strong technical legal knowledge and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders are essential for success in this role.
