Job summary

Confidential law firm is seeking a Compliance & Business Support Officer to assist legal teams with client onboarding, AML compliance, file management and internal audits. The role offers hybrid/flexible working and a salary of £28,000-£35,000 depending on experience.

The successful candidate will manage the full lifecycle of legal files, perform CDD/AML checks and support audits and regulatory compliance in a professional environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience within a law firm or legal services environment.
• Practical knowledge of CDD, AML and Source of Funds checks.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Experience with legal case management systems such as Clio, LEAP, SOS or Proclaim.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A professional, proactive and confidential approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of legal files, from opening and CDD/AML onboarding through to closure and archiving.
• Complete client due diligence, identity checks, AML risk assessments and Source of Funds/Wealth checks.
• Liaise with clients and fee earners to obtain outstanding compliance information.
• Conduct internal file audits and identify missing documentation, risks and procedural issues.
• Assist with SRA and Lexcel compliance and preparation for external audits.
• Ensure files are closed, archived and retained in accordance with firm procedures and GDPR.
• Maintain compliance records, risk registers and internal databases.
• Provide practical support to fee earners and contribute to improvements in the firm's processes and procedures.
