Job description

Legal Clerk needed in Bedford, £12.21ph PAYE – Reference: 5268082

We are seeking a Legal Clerk to join our team in Bedford on a full-time, temporary basis. The successful candidate will:

  1. Act as the first point of contact for the Legal Services Teams, handling telephone messages, prioritising emails, and scheduling diary appointments. Effective and timely communication with the Teams is essential to support their operational standards.
  2. Liaise with relevant contacts to arrange hearings, court dates, and meetings for the Legal Teams, ensuring the prompt distribution of associated documents.
  3. Provide administrative support to ensure high-quality communications. Utilize the Legal Services case management system to produce reports, letters, memoranda, forms, notices, and other legal documents, with a focus on accuracy and prioritization.
  4. Assist with tasks such as scanning, drafting non-standard letters, completing basic reports, court bundling, and collating hearing papers as needed.
  5. Make effective use of the IKEN case management system and develop templates as required.
  6. Collaborate with team members to enhance competence and confidence in handling legal issues and sharing best practices.
