Job summary

The University of Law in Manchester is seeking an inspiring Computer Science Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join our academic team at the central campus. You will guide students through core computing concepts and emerging technologies with an industry-relevant approach.

Applicants from all computing areas are welcome; we are keen on cyber security, forensics, risk & compliance, and penetration testing. Closing date 4 October 2026; interviews w/c 12 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
• Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) or willingness to work towards*.
• Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards PGCHE*.

Reporting into our Head of Computer Science, you'll play a key role in guiding students through core computing concepts and emerging technologies, providing an exceptional learning experience that’s both academically rigorous and industry relevant.

We welcome applicants from all areas of computing and are particularly keen to hear from candidates with expertise in cyber security/digital forensics/risk & compliance/penetration testing.

As Our Computer Science Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer, You Will

• Deliver high quality teaching and support for learning, including communication with other academics for the continuous improvement of teaching and student support
• Identify the need for developing the content, structure, assessment within modules with colleagues and make proposals on how this should be achieved.
• Contribute to effective design and review of inclusive learning. Maintain quality standards and regulations in curricular and assessment design.
• Routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers using high level skills
• Act as a module tutor, academic coach and sign-post students on pastoral aspects during their learning journey.

Is this you?

• Sufficient breadth and depth of professional experience in the relevant discipline to develop teaching programmes and learning support
• Able to communicate complex and conceptual ideas and information to a range of groups
• Professional, credible, commands respect

Requirements For Lecturer Positions

• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject

For Senior Lecturers you will have developed significant expertise in: Application and practical delivery of a range of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessments and marking, team leadership.
