Job summary

East Coast College is seeking a Lecturer to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills Maths at Lowestoft Campus on a fixed-term basis.

You will support adult learners, plan lessons, assess progress, and contribute to student success. The role is 9.25 hours per week (0.25FTE) with a Lecturer Scale salary, dependent on qualifications and experience, ending 31/07/2027.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Evidence of these qualifications required.
• Teaching qualification must be obtained within three years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Maths at GCSE and Functional Skills for adult learners.
• Engage with adult learners and develop maths skills.
• Contribute to lesson planning, assessment, and progression.

**East Coast College require all staff to hold a minimum Level 2 or equivalent in English and maths, and be able to evidence this.

Please note, candidates who secure a teaching position, but do not currently hold a teacher qualification are required to obtain this within their first three years of employment. This can be provided by the college, however, the employee will be required to sign a commitment form, where they will be eligible to pay fees back should they fail to complete the qualification, or exit the organisation within the committed timeframe. Employees can secure their own funding such as Student Finance for the qualifications should they wish.
