Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking a Lecturer in Sport to cover maternity leave. You will be part of a curriculum team, contributing to Sport programmes within the Technical Centre and focusing on student success, retention and pastoral support. You will also take on course leadership duties.

The role requires a UK Honours degree in a relevant subject or equivalent, a recognised teaching qualification (or working towards), and Level 2 Maths & English. Industrial experience in the field is essential.

• Must have a recognised teaching qualification or be currently working towards.
• Must have a Level 2 Maths & English qualification (or equivalent).
• Industrial experience in the discipline and up-to-date knowledge of current practice is essential.

Salary £28,273 - £42,655 gross per annum

Temporary until 30 June 2027 or the return of the post holder, whichever is sooner

The Role

We are looking for a Lecturer in Sport to cover for maternity leave. As a lecturer you will be part of a curriculum team, contributing to the growth and development of Sport programmes within the Technical Centre. This includes focusing on retention, achievement and student success alongside pastoral support, curriculum design/development and ensuring a high standard of quality provision is offered. You will also fill the role of course leader.

What we are looking for

You must have a UK Honours degree or UK ENIC degree in a relevant subject or the equivalent in industry relevant qualification and a recognised teaching qualification or be currently working towards. You must also have a level 2 Maths & English qualification (or equivalent). Current industrial experience in appropriate discipline and/or up to date knowledge of current industrial practice is essential as is experience of teaching a wide range of levels evidenced by high achievement rates
