Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking a Lecturer in Music to support the Music Team in delivering high-quality teaching and assessment on level 2 and 3 courses. The role requires a UK Honours degree in Music and a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, with experience using Logic Pro in a studio or rehearsal setting.

The post offers a pro rata salary of £28,273–£42,655 per annum and access to a wide range of staff benefits including gym discounts, eye tests, cycle to work and more.

Qualifications

• You must have a UK Honours degree in Music and a PGCE or other recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience using industry standard music software, including Logic for sequencing, recording and post-production.
• Experience in a recording studio and/or rehearsal environment with strong HE progression knowledge.

• Deliver high standards of teaching, learning and assessment on music courses.
• Collaborate with the Music Team and Curriculum Leader to plan and deliver modules at level 2 & 3.
• Support student progression and contribute to course development.

The Role

You will support and work alongside the Music Team and Curriculum Leader in delivering a high standard of teaching, learning and assessment on a range of courses including music units at level 2 & 3.

What we are looking for

You must have a UK Honours degree or UK ENIC degree in a Music and a PGCE or other recognised teaching qualification. You will also have sound knowledge and experience of using industry standard software for music sequencing, recording/production and post-production using Logic. In addition, you should have experience of working within a recording studio and/or rehearsal environment and strong technical knowledge of the music industry including context, theory and requirements for HE progression.
