Blackburn College is seeking a Lecturer in English to deliver English GCSE and Functional Skills to full-time and part-time learners. The role is part-time (18.5 hours per week) with a focus on high-quality teaching and student support.
You will join a curriculum team, contribute to planning and development, and ensure robust attendance and achievement across courses. A Level 4+ qualification and teaching qualification (or progress toward) are required.

As a lecturer you will be part of a curriculum team, contributing to delivery, planning, development and student support. You will deliver English GCSE and Functional Skills, teaching full time and part-time learners. You will be committed to excellence, offering the very highest standards in teaching. You will also be expected to take responsibilityfor high levels of attendance and achievement on courses delivered, as well as all administrative tasks related to class responsibility.
You must have a Minimum Level 4 or above qualification in relevant subject discipline and a recognised teaching qualification (or to achieve within 2 years of appointment). You should have experience of teaching in a further education environment and experience of working with 19+ groups. You will have a strong awareness of current developments within your subject disciplines and relevant industrial and/or professional experience.
