Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking a Lecturer in English to deliver English GCSE and Functional Skills to full-time and part-time learners. The role is part-time (18.5 hours per week) with a focus on high-quality teaching and student support.

You will join a curriculum team, contribute to planning and development, and ensure robust attendance and achievement across courses. A Level 4+ qualification and teaching qualification (or progress toward) are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 4 or above qualification in relevant subject.
• Recognised teaching qualification or to achieve within 2 years of appointment.
• Experience teaching in a further education environment.
• Experience working with 19+ groups.
• Awareness of current developments within your subject discipline.

Responsibilities

• Deliver English GCSE and Functional Skills.
• Plan, develop and support students.
• Take responsibility for high levels of attendance and achievement.
• Complete administrative tasks related to class responsibility.
