Job summary

South Essex College Group seeks a Lecturer in Electrical to deliver engaging FE programmes, covering Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications. You will teach theory and practical skills in well-equipped workshops, assess progress, and provide constructive feedback to help learners excel.

You will keep content current with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and evolving technologies such as renewables, while supporting learners with career guidance and industry placements.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Installation qualification (Level 2+) required.
  • Experience as an electrician or similar role.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to CPD and keeping pace with industry changes.

About the role
  • Deliver engaging lessons across a range of FE electrical programmes, including Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications.

What You'll Bring
  • A recognised qualification in Electrical Installation (Level 2 or above).
  • Industry experience as an electrician or a similar role.
  • A teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
