Job summary

New City College is seeking an experienced Lecturer in Electrical Installation to teach learners across Level 1 to Level 3, including 16 to 18 provision, adult learners and apprenticeships. You will develop learners’ practical skills and confidence from induction to progression.

You will deliver high-quality teaching, assess and provide feedback, and work with employers and awarding bodies to support progression and curriculum development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with 18th Edition and teaching or assessor qualification advantageous.
• Experience delivering electrical qualifications across Level 1–3 and apprenticeship programmes.

• Plan and deliver engaging learner-centred programmes developing knowledge and vocational skills.

• Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate course, assessment and training records.

Job description

Pay Range: £33,400 - £52,100 per annum. Placement on the scale will depend on qualifications and experience.

Hours and weeks: 35 hrs per week, 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent

Contract Term: Term time runs from Mid August to Mid July.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join our strong and dynamic team. You will teach and assess learners across a range of Electrical programmes, from Level 1 to Level 3, including 16 to 18 provision, adult learners and apprenticeships. You will play an important role in developing learners’ practical skills, knowledge and confidence, supporting them from induction through to successful achievement and progression.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality teaching, training and assessment across accredited Electrical qualifications, both in College and, where required, on employers’ premises.
• Plan and deliver engaging, learner-centred programmes that develop the knowledge and vocational skills needed for successful achievement.
• Assess learners and apprentices throughout their programme, providing regular feedback, guidance and tutorial support.
• Develop schemes of work, assessment plans, learning outcomes and individual learning plans.
• Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate course, assessment and training records.
• Work closely with employers, awarding bodies and colleagues to support the delivery and development of Electrical qualifications.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance and continuous improvement within the provision.

Who You Are:

You will be a qualified Electrician with the 18th Edition qualification and have relevant experience working within the Electrical industry. You will bring practical industry knowledge, strong organisational and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A relevant teaching or training qualification and an assessor qualification are advantageous, alongside experience of developing assessment plans and schemes of work. You will also be committed to safeguarding, equality and diversity, and supporting every learner to achieve their potential.
