Job summary

Greenacre Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Major Works & Dispute Resolution Officer for an Essex-based housing organisation. The role focuses on statutory consultation for major works, leaseholder communications, cost recovery and dispute resolution, with an emphasis on compliance and customer service.

The post is a 12-month interim contract, on-site four days per week, paying £350 per day (Umbrella). Experience in leasehold law and Section 20 processes is essential.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002.
• Experience with Section 20 consultation in social housing.
• Proven ability to manage disputes and cost recovery.

Responsibilities

• Lead statutory consultation processes for major works projects with full compliance.
• Prepare and manage Section 20 notices within required timescales.
• Engage leaseholders with clear, professional guidance throughout projects.
• Attend meetings to explain works, costs and payment options.
• Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure recoverability.
• Maintain records of consultations, service charges and documents.
• Prepare evidence for proceedings and manage disputes to early resolution.
• Support service improvement and customer satisfaction targets.
