Position: Learning Technologist

This exciting new position as a Learning Technologist offers the opportunity to provide expertise, knowledge, and support in digital technologies, focusing on areas such as virtual learning environments, digital assessment, and educational media. The role involves supporting learning technologies across a specific UCL faculty, department, or campus.

You will be responsible for delivering ongoing training and support to staff across UCL, ensuring expert guidance and advice. The role includes contributing to agile product teams to enhance and develop specific product areas and maintain a top-tier service.

This position also provides opportunities for collaboration with colleagues across ISD, UCL’s educational support and development services, and the wider educational community within departments and faculties.

About you

Candidates should have solid experience and meet the following criteria:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent, or possess relevant proven experience in developing, supporting, and evaluating educational technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment in educational or skills training contexts.
• Experience in developing educational materials within a team, working closely with academic experts and technical support teams.
• Experience in teaching or training in group environments, with evidence of effectively sharing technical knowledge to support colleagues and users.
• Thorough knowledge of systems and applications relevant to the role.
• An understanding of how web-based, multimedia, and mobile technologies can be used to enhance learning, teaching, and assessment.
• An appreciation of the pedagogical, social, and cultural issues affecting the adoption of new learning environments/technologies, along with strategies to address them.
