About The Role

This exciting new position as a Learning Technologist will offer the postholder the opportunity to supply expertise, knowledge and support in digital technologies with a particular focus on a digital product area (e.g. virtual learning environments, digital assessment, educational media) or provide broader support of learning technologies for a particular UCL faculty, department or campus.

You will be required to provide continued training and support to staff across UCL and will ensure expert guidance and advice is provided. Consistent contribution to agile product teams, which help to enhance and develop specific product areas and help maintain a best-in-class service.

This also role offers the opportunity to provide continued collaboration with colleagues across ISD, UCL’s educational support and development services and the wider education community within departments and faculties.

About You

To be considered for this position candidates should have solid experience in the following:

• Educated to degree standard or equivalent, or having acquired relevant proven experience of developing, promoting, supporting and evaluating a range of educational technologies to enhance teaching, learning and assessment in an education or skills training context.
• Experience of developing educational material within a team, working closely with academic subject experts and technical support teams.
• Experience of teaching or training in a group environment and evidence of effectively sharing technical knowledge and skill to support the work and learning of colleagues and users.
• Thorough working knowledge of the systems and applications used within the job role area.
• An understanding of how web-based, multimedia and mobile technologies can be used to enhance learning, teaching and assessment.
• An appreciation of the pedagogical, social and cultural issues affecting the adoption of new learning environments/technologies and strategies to deal with them.
