The Role

Framestore is looking for a Senior Creative Technologist to join our award-winning Immersive team in London. The Senior Creative Technologist is considered a key member of the Immersive studio, working closely with the Head of Department, its Executive Producers, Creative Directors and other senior leads to foster a collaborative workplace culture that sees it draw upon the wider Framestore skills and offerings.

We are looking for a well-rounded individual with experience in devising, implementing and supervising projects, coupled with our heritage in high-end visuals, to make best use of creative and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate would have experience in working direct to client, with a mix of agency and production company experience. This role reports to the Global Head of Immersive, working closely with the Creative Technology Director and leadership from the Advertising & Content teams, to help define and implement Framestore’s strategy for application of AI & ML opportunities across various sectors.

This is a full-time staff role with benefits and working on a hybrid work model with 2+ days in the central London office and some days remote.

What you’ll do:

• Work closely with the Head of Immersive to deliver on the strategy and identify potential new areas of opportunity

• Serve as business partner for EPs and CDs in the development, communication and pitching of Framestore’s initiatives

• Guide internal and external stakeholders through the Creative Technology process, advocating for the use of emerging technology through clear communication

• Key contributor on pitches and creation of associated materials

• Aid in the supervision of existing projects as well as guiding the set-up and supervision of new ones, acting as the “bridge” between Technology/Developer and Art/Asset teams

• Work with the EPs and Senior Production team to ensure that the technical and artistic nature of proposals is able to realise the creative intent

• Provide assertive direction for the application of emerging technologies, ensuring the correct solutions are employed

• Help build Framestore’s profile and reputation in the Immersive sector by providing editorial-based thought leadership and speaking/presenting at in-person events, conferences and panels

• Mentor and upskill junior developers/those in traditional roles by helping them to learn and develop capabilities with emerging technologies/techniques, such as AI

What we are looking for:

• Demonstrable experience operating at a high level in a similar field/role

• Portfolio of projects that demonstrates a range of experience in Immersive installations/Creative Technology projects

• Experience and passion with/for emerging technologies

• Experience with cross-functional teams on a variety of projects and client types

• Senior artist / Supervisor level experience with a range of tools and technologies:

  • Unreal Engine, Unity

  • VFX DCC tools

  • AI, ML, NeRF and other Neural rendering-based frameworks for creating visual imagery/animation

• Deep understanding of the CG and VFX process

• A keen eye for detail, with a strong design aesthetic

• Exceptional communicator
