Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. in Lewisham, South London, is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to join the NCG Further Education Supply Bank.

You will work with lecturers and support teams to provide tailored help to learners across multiple FE settings, focusing on inclusion and learner achievement. Qualifications

• GCSEs at grades A-C, including English and Maths where required.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside lecturers and specialist support teams to provide tailored assistance to learners with a range of abilities, needs and learning requirements.

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to help learners engage with their studies.
• Supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and additional learning needs.
• Assisting lecturers with classroom activities and adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
• Promoting learner confidence, independence, engagement and positive behaviour.
• Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Helping learners progress towards their learning objectives.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to ensure learners receive appropriate assistance.
• Following college policies, safeguarding procedures and health and safety requirements.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have:

• GCSS at grades A-C, or equivalent qualifications, including English and Maths where required for the role.
• Experience supporting learners or individuals in an educational, care, youth work or similar support setting.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Criteria

• Previous experience working within a Further Education college.
• Experience supporting learners with EHCPs, disabilities or complex additional needs.
• Knowledge of strategies that promote independence, engagement and positive behaviour.
