Job summary

Brooklands Technical College invites applications for a Learning Support Assistant. The role focuses on supporting learners with diverse needs, from entry level to Level 3, across English and Maths, with emphasis on reading, writing, and numeracy development.

Applicants should have Level 2 English & Maths; an LSA qualification is advantageous or willingness to pursue it. Strong IT and communication skills are essential, with records kept for all activities.

Qualifications

• Must have English & Maths at Level 2.
• A relevant Learning Support Assistant qualification is highly advantageous, or a willingness to pursue this qualification.
• Strong IT, numeracy, oral, and written communication skills.
• A deep understanding of the Additional Learning Support function and its critical role in education.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to learners in class, either one-on-one or in small groups, across various curriculum areas from entry level to Level 3.
• Implement effective strategies to assist students with reading, writing, and maths skills.
• Offer support to students during their exams.
• Maintain detailed records of all support activities provided to learners.
