Waterloo Lodge School is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Chorley, Lancashire. You will help students with social, emotional and mental health needs, enabling progress and confidence across classroom and enrichment activities.

The role involves supporting learning, outdoor activities, and life skills development, with a focus on building positive relationships and fostering resilience in pupils aged 11 to 17 with ASD and related needs.

Formación

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to stay calm and positive in challenging situations.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude.
  • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals is beneficial but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for helping students succeed and thrive.

Responsabilidades

  • Supporting students in the classroom, in small groups and on a one-to-one basis
  • Building positive, trusting relationships that help students feel safe, valued and ready to learn
  • Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging and personalised learning experiences
  • Encouraging students' independence, confidence, communication and social development
  • Supporting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through a calm and consistent approach
  • Assisting with enrichment activities, outdoor learning, educational visits and life skills opportunities
  • Monitoring progress and celebrating achievements, no matter how big or small

About Us

Waterloo Lodge School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged 11 to 17, catering primarily for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), many of whom may also have additional complex needs. We support students from Lancashire and the surrounding areas.
