Randstad UK is recruiting for a Learning Support Practitioner in Minehead. The role supports students across residential houses, Foxes Hotel, and classrooms, helping them achieve independence and sustainable employment in hospitality.

You will work shifts on a two-week rota, including alternate weekends. Full training is provided, and prior care/education experience is advantageous.

Formación

• Level 2 English and Maths qualifications desirable.
• Level 3 Education or Care qualification desirable.
• Background in care or education advantageous.
• Experience in a similar role desirable; full training provided.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain high expectations for all students.
• Support students in learning under the guidance of House Managers and Tutors.
• Assist in managing student behaviour professionally.
• Collaborate with session tutors to foster a positive learning environment.
• Promote life skills such as cleaning, cooking, personal hygiene, laundry, communication, self-advocacy, presentation skills, and teamwork.
• Provide 1:1 support and monitor students' development and independence.

: £12.87 - £13.40 p/h - depending on experience and qualifications

Hours

40 per week - Term time plus additional days and training (42 weeks per year)

Additional Information

Shift work is required, including weekends and sleep-ins. Sleep-in shifts are paid at a flat rate of £65, in addition to your annual salary.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Practitioner (LSP), you will support students across our residential houses, Foxes Hotel, and classroom settings. Your role is central to helping students achieve independence and sustainable employment in hospitality.

You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including:

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain high expectations for all students, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
• Support students in their learning under the guidance of House Managers and Tutors.
• Assist in managing student behaviour professionally and seek guidance when necessary.
• Collaborate effectively with session tutors to foster a positive and proactive learning environment.
• Promote the development of wider life skills such as cleaning, cooking, personal hygiene, laundry, communication, self-advocacy, presentation skills, and teamwork.
• Provide 1:1 support as directed, monitoring students' personal development and independence.
• Experience in a similar role is desirable; however, full training will be provided.
• Background in care or education is advantageous.
• Willingness to work on a rota, including alternate weekends.
• Understanding of working with individuals with disabilities is desirable.
• Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths is desirable.
• Level 3 qualification in education or care is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable.
